Neon and temples, kept apart

Tokyo at night and Kyoto at dawn belong in one book but not on one spread. The AI keeps them as chapters instead of alternating them page by page.

Districts, shrines and stations

Shibuya, Fushimi Inari, the ryokan whose name is on no map you kept. The captions carry them for you.

For the trip you shot the most on

Japan produces more photographs than any other trip. Lay-flat pages and generous spreads hold them without the book turning into a contact sheet.

Japan photo book questions

Everything worth knowing first.

Can you make a photo book about one specific destination?

That is exactly what this is for. Name the place — Portugal, Santorini, New York, a Mediterranean cruise — and the book is built around it: photos grouped by location, a chapter break each time you moved on, and captions carrying the real place names.

Is the cover really drawn for my destination?

Yes, and it is not a template. Search the place you went and we illustrate three original covers for it, drawn from that destination's own landmarks and colours. Pick the one you like and your book starts from it.

Which destinations can I make a book about?

Any place you can search for: a country, a city, an island, a region or a national park. Portugal, Santorini, Iceland, the Amalfi Coast, Japan, New York. If it has a name on a map, we can draw it.

How do I organise photos from a long trip?

Split by destination or by week. Describe how you would naturally tell it — 'we started in Lisbon, then drove south to the Algarve' — and the AI structures the book that way.

Can I include a map or itinerary page?

Yes. Ask for a route overview or an itinerary page and the AI designs one, with destination names, dates and any details you want on it.

What paper and binding suits a destination book?

Lay-flat binding. Coastlines, skylines and mountain passes run across a full double page with no crease down the middle. Hardcover with lay-flat pages is our most popular choice for these books.

How many pages should it be?

For a week away, 40–60 pages is typical. For a longer or multi-stop trip, 60–80 gives it room. The AI suggests a length once it sees how many photos you have.

Can I make a book about a trip I took years ago?

Yes. Plenty of these books are made from photos that have been sitting on a hard drive for years. The AI works with whatever you have.

A Japan photo book for the trip you shot the most on

Japan produces more photographs than any other trip, and two entirely different kinds of them. Tokyo at night and Kyoto at dawn belong in the same book but not on the same spread, and a straight chronological dump alternates them until neither carries any weight. A Japan photo book keeps the cities, the temples and the countryside as distinct chapters.

Describe the route and the AI orders it, captions the districts, shrines and stations by name, and uses lay-flat pages so a torii corridor or a city skyline can run the full width of a spread. The cover is drawn for your Japan, and the finished book is hardcover, printed to order and delivered.
